I’ve been loving sending you all snippets of my holiday survival notes that I share with my BBZ Tribe. This pertains to all of us and can really help us focus on our goals moving forward and celebrate our accomplishments this past year. Hope you enjoy!
We all want positive change, and as we get ready to close out the year, it's classic that we all start thinking about how next year will be different. Sometimes though, we want change too quickly, we want results as soon as possible and that can backfire big time. You can lose five pounds in a day if you want, but you'll gain it back just as fast. But you can also make small, steady, lasting lifestyle changes that mean you lose each pound for real, and when it's gone you know it's gone for good! My Body By Zanotti program is that long-term solution, not that quick-fix easy answer. It's something we will all see happen in 2023 for sure, so stay dedicated, and let's make it happen this season, and throughout the year!
Calm Mind
This past year, we talked plenty about one of the most powerful things you can do to help put your busy brain at ease -- breathe! Breath is still where it all begins, and tuning in to your breath is something you can do in any situation, at any time. Remember that between what you experience and how you react is that moment where you can pause, take a deep breath, and best decide how to respond. At a time of year that is sacred for so many of us, remembering the power of the "divine pause" is definitely appropriate! Give yourself a gift when you feel holiday stress creeping up. Get back to your breath, and notice how much better it makes everything!
Healthy Body
The weather outside may be frightful, but you know what I'm going to say: That's no excuse to stop moving! Even if you're not up for that crisp walk around the neighborhood to check out the holiday decorations, you still have plenty of ways to stay in motion indoors. Of course you may be part of BBZ Fitness or utilizing other online workouts, but remember you want to find ways to move around just about every day! I know it's tough to get off the couch when you're under that cozy blanket, but let's flip the script a bit. Think of that delicious downtime as the reward you give yourself after doing twenty minutes of jumping jacks, squats, dancing or more competitive decorating! Is that even a thing? Sure it is. Anyway, your body wants to move, and it will appreciate holiday relaxation even more after you've spent some time celebrating a favorite way to stay warm!
Strong Spirit
We know this is a time when we should be making spirits bright, but we also know plenty of us get the blues. This year, it might be even tough because we can't be with everyone we want to be with, for any number of reasons. All I can do is urge you not to let that get you down! Easier said than done, for sure. But remember to stay focused on what you have and be thankful for those blessings! Everyone is taking it day by day, and remember that most of us deal with the memory of a tough loss or challenging change around this time. The best you can do is decide to make the best of things. That might sound corny, but accepting where we are is imperative to moving towards where we want to be. You're always on the path! We might take time to regroup, but we won't regress!
